Traveling in style

I know some of you will think travel trailers are lame. And to that I say... whatever. We have been renting them since we moved to Texas because quite frankly, its just too damn hot to camp in a tent here. Tent campers bring portable window air conditioners and I am not even kidding. So, we finally broke down and bought one of our own. This past weekend was the first trip out and although it did not go smoothly, mostly thanks to me and my lack of packing skills, which is quite frankly, a puzzlement to everyone, we still had a great time and can't wait to head out again.

We stayed in Lake Somerville State Park and it was great. A really nice park and most of the campsites are oversized with lots of space between you and your neighbors. The park was quiet since the weather was quite chilly. We took a long hike and the girls hung out on the beach while Scott fished.

Isabella's friend Kristen went with us on our trip this past weekend. She is a great girl and we love it when she is able to come along.

My daughter rocks

So, last weekend, Isabella hung out with her Dad. They ran some errands and stopped at Lowe's for some sort of manly man stuff. I know that when that happens, Isabella says "Can I go look at the paint colors?" and we say yes because it makes her happy and we trust her not to run off with some cute older boy. LOL. So anyhoo, on Sunday night, we're watching the Oscars and Isabella says "hey mom, can I show you the fans I made for my friends?" I, of course, say sure. She pulls out a set of awesome mini paper fans. I think they're totally cool. But then, I ask her what they are made out of. She says "paint scraps" aka PAINT CHIPS FROM LOWE'S. Seriously. How cool is that? Not only does my girl rock the craft, she rocks the re-use too! Love these. And I'm sure her friends will too!

More digi

Told you I got my groove back. These are all layouts for 2011. Hmmm... knowing I need to finish 2010, what's that about? Oh well. It is what it is what it is.

Getting my digi on…

I've been busy. Back in the saddle. Working my mojo. Whatever you want to call it, I've got it. I'm on a mission to complete some digi albums and be "caught up" on my chronological scrapping, so I'm working on 2007 and 2010. Weird, huh? Well, see, I thought 2007 was done so I finished 2008 and 2009, sent them off to Adoramapics, which was awesome by the way, got my photo albums back, was all excited, and then Isabella says "so, we're just skipping 2007?" WHAT?? There's no 2007 album on the shelf? Seriously? Oh my stinkin' heck. So, then I realize I really and truly have not scrapped the 2007 photos. Or the ones I did scrap were not digital. Or the digital layouts are gone in their original form and all I have left are the smaller web versions. Just suffice it to say, this should be a lesson to everyone to be careful with your backups and lack of backups and your trigger-happy delete finger. Ugh. But, I do like the new layouts so its all good.

The next two are 12x12 double layouts.

The next ones were created using digital products from Tami Miller. I love her designs and she's got her new shop open at Scrapbook Bytes. She's going to be adding a lot of kits over the next several weeks so check it out.

Have a great day!

Paper layouts… what the heck?

So, a friend of mine is going to be selling these gorgeous flowers from Thailand at a craft show in California. And Janet is one of the most giving, awesome-est people I know, so when she asked if some of us would like to make layouts for her booth, I was happy to say yes! These flowers are really neat. They come on floral stems so you can use them in all kinds of crafts, not just paper. But I loved the results on my layouts. Thanks for looking!
