You know Carol--unless the house/cooking stuff is really to the point where you find it unacceptable, there's nothing wrong with it not being at the level you'd consider 100% perfect. When you look at the sum of your life, the top tallies will invariably be time spent with your daughter, your husband and the other things that are most dear to your heart--not how many "proper" meals you cooked or how clean your house is. Stop and give yourself a pat on the back for obviously putting those things at the top of your priority list already. ;)

Carol -- you can do it! I do think there is something to the notion of being busier often makes one more efficient and having "time" makes one less efficient. But, we tend to be more likely to do things that are fun and if you can find the fitness/health related activities that are fun for you, you will suddenly find the time to do them! For me, it is martial arts and running (outside, NOT on a treadmill). I spend about 15-20 hours a week doing a combination of the two (that's like a part-time job!) and I always look forward to it. As for cooking, I find if I plan ahead (not so much fun), I can whip up a healthy, delicious meal (kind of fun) in under 30 minutes. Also, I dedicate 15 minutes a day sprucing up an area of the house. This results in more tidiness, less stress, a husband who thinks I work really hard all day (which I do, but you know what I mean!) and a house I don't mind allowing unexpected guests to see! But way to have a plan, I am rooting for you!!!!!
