New Shoes

to go with my new attitude. I’m just gonna do the best I can at the things that matter. My family, my job, my physical health, and my crafty side. In that order too. I might not like that order so much, but its the way it has to be for now.

Oh, I like that family is first, so I am trying to help us eat more food at home than we do out at restaurants and fast food, I’m helping Isabella learn to be organized and stay focused on schoolwork, and I’m trying to pay more attention to Scott. He’s an awesome hubby and deserves as much time as I can give him.

My job has to come next because it helps pay the bills and pay for the extra things we enjoy as a family. My real estate business is growing and that is awesome. I’m trying to stay on top of that without feeling like I’m drowning. I’m doing an okay job at it and need to focus more. I’m looking for some part-time help on the far side of town so if you’re a local reader, let me know if you know somebody in the Tomball area that could use a little extra cash in their pockets.

My health. Which leads to the New Shoes. Aren’t these pretty?

They have some reflective parts which is good because I run early in the morning when its still dark. And they already have the Nike+ transmitter installed in that little pouch on the laces. It “talks” to the receiver attached to the iPod and tracks my miles and my time and my calories. This little gadget is pretty darn awesome and I don’t think I could have accomplished the start of this running thing without it.

And last but not least, they are so incredibly cute on the INSIDE, which I love. They don’t scream GIRL or PINK or whatever, which is cool for those of you who like to scream those things, but me. Not so much. I like my GIRL a little more subdued. Well, most of the time anyway. So here’s the inside peek:

I’m sorry, that pattern makes me smile. I need to make a patterned scrapbook paper out of those swirly dots.

Which leads to the last focus and it is indeed the last in the list. My craft ventures. I need to play in my craft room, but I need all these other things more. So I’m making lists and perusing magazines and taking classes when I can. I’m just not spending much time DOING. And I’ve decided that is okay. This is the time for reflecting, focusing on other things, and preparing for the days when I will be back in my craft room making stuff.

Its all good and I’m all good. Life is good. And aren’t those shoes just too awesome? I know!

Letting Go

I’ve got one more project and article to complete for an upcoming issue for Scrap N’ Art, and then I’m letting it go. I’ve had a fabulous time on the magazine team, learned a lot about how that process works, how the scrapbooking industry works, and about people. I must say, as awesome as it is to get a fabulous box of product every few months, sit down and play, and then see my projects in print, I like it better when its just a hobby. Its important for everyone to know that Candy Rosenberg, the owner of Scrap N’ Art is FABULOUS. And I mean that with all my heart. She’s got enough energy, patience, creativity, and drive for ten gals and I am thrilled I got to work with her and her team for the past year. Kudos to the SNA design team and staff. I will miss you. MWAH.
