Interesting Week

Well that's not exactly the word for it I suppose. To put it out there short and sweet, Scott got laid off on Wednesday. Another victim of today's economy and the ever-increasing financial woes of corporate America. He's okay. We're okay. He is already on the hunt for a new opportunity but to be honest, he was hunting before it was a reality and its slim pickings right now. We're prepared for a long haul. We've tightened our belts and trimmed off our fat. Thanks in advance for prayers, happy thoughts, kind words, and potential job offers. Those would be most welcome, right after the prayers, happy thoughts, and kind words.

On a more enjoyable note, here are some digiscrapping layouts I worked on this week. I can't show you my Valentine's projects in case my husband or daughter decide to peek at the blog.

This first one was for an online challenge. We were given a sketch and had to create our own layout. Since its been a rough week, I was reflecting on all the wonderful things about my husband. His job is NOT who he is. He is my husband, the father of our child, my boyfriend, my lover, my life. I love him dearly. And besides all that, he's stuck with ME for another 68 years according to the agreement he made with my grandmother when we got engaged.

This is my sweet girl. This seems like yesterday but man, it is not. She is now eight and has long legs and lean limbs and no more pudgy cheeks that I used to just kiss and squeeze all the time. I still kiss and squeeze her but she is now a young girl. I got pretty sentimental making this one, I must admit.

Okay, I guess I need to actually clean up today. You know, shower, etc? Maybe not, but I'm off to other things for now. I'll be back soon, I will try to post more than once a week, although that seems to be my process at the moment.

  1. What a wonderful tribute to your husband. I really liked your sentiment about he’s not his job… of any place to get laid off, Houston would be the place. There are lots of options so I wish him great success. How great that he has a supportive wife!
