Ike

Wow. So that’s what a hurricane can do when it actually hits town. We were actually very lucky at our house. We did not have any damage to the house and only lost a few limbs to trees. Oh, and a blade off one of the ceiling fans on the back porch. All of our neighbors were pretty lucky too although a BUNCH of trees went down in the neighborhood. We were without power for about a week, my grandparents live closer into Houston and they still do not have power. They are living on a generator which is nice, but man are they loud. When you finally turn them off, you think you’ve gone deaf from the silence. Seriously. So I have photos but I can’t find them, I think they are on the laptop we were using at work (from the wifi at the Kroger and the burger joint). I’ll upload them when I can. Take care all. I will be back I promise.

So glad you are all OK. Hope things settle back down for you soon. I can’t believe how disconnected I am – I hadn’t even heard about Ike till Josiane started wondering about your welfare! Duh – I REALLY need to start getting involved in the world news!
