To He** in a handbasket

is exactly where Project 3:11 (6:23) went. Sorry folks. I took photos the first two days and then got lost in life. There probably would have been some interesting photos because I was on airplanes, in Portland, at a convention dinner, etc., and I even had my camera with me. But I just could not deal with being nice for the conference AND taking photos! Ha! That’s just way too much work. Oh well.

Janet Hopkins Class Project

Last weekend while I was in Dallas, before dropping Isabella off at camp, I went to a Janet Hopkins (House of 3) class. It was awesome and I have some photos of one of my two projects HERE. Janet is great and personally, I can’t believe she taught a class three weeks before her baby is due. We tried to keep her sitting down, but she’s not very good at obeying, must be something to do with being a mom to three (almost four) kids. Can’t sit down or the house will burn down.

Speaking of ScrapNArt, have I mentioned I am on the design team? I honestly can’t remember so I am tooting my horn again, well then I’m sorry. Its early, and I’ve had no coffee. Yet. So you will be seeing me a couple of times a month on their blog, I’m hanging out in the forums, and will be creating projects for the subscriber forum. If you haven’t seen the new and improved ScrapNArt, go check it out. The magazine is really amazing, full of lots of neat ideas, and the subscriber forum has extra digital freebies, project tutorials, its pretty cool. The freebies you get there are exclusive and you cannot get them anywhere else, even from me on my blog. Nope, nowhere.

I also am starting my Project 3:11 (6:23) today. I almost forgot, if you can believe that… well of course you can, I am me after all. I can’t promise my photos will be exactly at 6:23pm every day but its the thought that counts, correct?

My Retro Americana kit is still on sale for $2.50 at ScrapOutsideTheBox, but it won’t be for long, because the next kit is being released tomorrow or Wednesday.

There are a couple of blog trains coming your way soon… be on the lookout…

Project 3:11 (or 6:23 in my world)

I love the digi work of beAudacious Designs. Audrey has some fab kits and she is starting a project on her blog next week. She is going to take a photo at 3:11 every day of her vacation. That header up there is linked to her blog if you want to check out the project in her very own words.

I thought this would be a cool way to document my week next week so I’m in. Only 3:11 in my world is a really boring time of day. Every picture would be of me sitting at my desk in my home office away from home. So I’m going to do mine at 6:23, chosen because it is my daughter’s birthday. We will see if (a) I can remember to do it, (b) I can remember to post it, and (c) if it shows anything interesting at all. It should because I have a work trip planned for the end of next week to Portland.

Won’t you join us?

Freebie Bookmark and Other Info

Do you like to read? I seriously love to read, and so does my daughter. My hubby, not so much. But Isabella and I can sit for hours and read. I love to read before turning off the lights at night, I love to read at the beach, at my mom’s backyard pool, and while camping. And as much as I think a Kindle would be cool, I do like turning pages. And I adore bookmarks. So I made this bookmark for my daughter, hers has writing on it and her name, and I’m mailing to camp tomorrow with a couple of books, but I saved the blank one for you.

Its a JPG file so anyone should be able to download it and you can even open it in Word if you don’t have a graphics program. Email me if you want a quick tutorial on how to do that. So here are your instructions:
1. Click on the bookmark to save the file.
2. Open it in your program of choice.

3. Add some words of your own.
4. Print it out on plain white cardstock.
5. Cut it out and there you go!

And its made from an upcoming kit, so if you like these bright colors, be watching.

Speaking of info about new stuff, I’ve gotten behind on my newsletters. I’m sorry about that. I am working on organizing the whole “business” side of this scrapbooking stuff and getting on a schedule for the newsletter is one of the pieces of the big giant puzzle. I will get there, don’t give up on me yet!

Today is day 3 of Isabella being at camp. We’ve seen photos and she’s having fun so I’m good too. I hate blurred out faces in photos, but I don’t know who this other sweet girl is, so I’m not going to show her face on the internet. The point of the photo, though, is that Iabella looks so happy (and so did the other girl before I blurred out her adorable smile) and I love that. Yay for camp!

We’re going to see a movie tomorrow night. It won’t be rated PG and it will not be animated. And we won’t have a nine yr old talking through the whole thing! Such luxuries might just drive me over the edge!
