remember
My book is Vol 25 and I don't have the whole thing, only up to page 14. But very cool that I have it and that I found the history. LOVE the internet. I also used an old measuring tape and made it look even older with alcohol inks. So here is my ATC (Artist Trading Card). I am sending in 6 copies of the same card and will get six unique cards back, from six different participants. Fun stuff!
Off to work on the other SWAP. Stay tuned!
Focus on Simplicity
Okay, hope you like the new blog header and layout because its staying. I'm going for simple so I can FOCUS on more important things, like figuring out what's for dinner. And yes, laundry. And working on two online SWAPs.
I'm off to Girl Scouts. Cookie sales start Saturday the 10th in Houston so order some cookies! Help out a local troop make some money. The girls really do learn a LOT during this process. And besides that, the cookies are great.
See ya.

Welcome 2009… although a few days late
Happy New Year everyone. I started this post on the first day of 2009 and I've been pondering it ever since. I'm finally ready to post. So I'm choosing a word of the year. I am choosing FOCUS. According to Webster's, focus is defined as:
a: a state or condition permitting clear perception or understanding
b: a center of activity, attraction, or attention
c: a point of concentration
d: directed attention
I am going to FOCUS in 2009 on family, friends, balance, creativity, and keeping the laundry from piling up. Now that last one may seem like no big deal to some of you but for those of you who have been reading my blog, you know this is a major commitment on my part. I HATE LAUNDRY. If I could hire someone to come into my house just to do laundry, I would. But I can't so I am making it a FOCUS for 2009. I'm already behind but its only just after noon and I think I can catch up before bedtime.
As for family, I want to focus on spending more time with my husband. He's awesome and deserves more attention than he gets in this household.
As for friends, I need to figure out how to spend time with someone other than my mom and myself. Not that I don't love my mom, I do so very much, but I need to find some more consistent time with other women. And not necessarily scrapbooking or crafty women, but in some other outlet that helps me feel better about my place in this world. I have a couple of ideas.
As for balance, I am actually one of those people who spends TOO much time in her craft room and not enough time on other things (hence the laundry problem). So as I sit here and realize I have been in here already for three hours, I'm going to commit to FOCUS on balancing my "alone" time and my family and chore time. There truly are things that have to get done around here and I'm the one who needs to do them.
As for creativity, I'm focusing on digital scrapping this year. I'll do other stuff too but I'm having a blast working with all sorts of cool ladies online, participating in ADSR4, playing with my skills. I'm also putting myself on a tight budget this year so I'm trying not to buy any non-digital supplies for the entire year. I'm going to USE everything I have. And I'm only going to spend $25 or less each month on digital supplies. We will see how that goes but if I can do it, it would be huge.
And finally, I am going to participate in Project 365 but its going to be Project 360-ish for me because today is the 4th and I haven't started. I'm starting tomorrow, a Monday, the 5th. A picture a day for the entire year. I might screw up, hence the -ish, but maybe I won't and if I can do it, it will be very cool.
Oh. And I'm going to come up with a new blog header. Hating that one up there right now so bear with me people.
Happy New Year
Okay, so its already the 4th. I've been busy man. Well, not so busy, but taking some time away from the blog to do other stuff. And no, its still not laundry. I'm not sure 2009 is starting off the way we would want but its started and that's just the way it goes. We don't really have much control over some things so we make do with what we've got. We're healthy, we have love, we're all good.

Credits: Leah Riordan Music Basically for the goods and I can't take credit for this amazing design. I scraplifted it from Sandrine Thomas, Believe in Dreams, from the DigitalArtistMagazine Dec08 edition. This is an amazing digital magazine and had over 1 GIG of freebies this time around.

I'll post more tomorrow, they are going in my online galleries tomorrow too. Good night!
