We took one small step forward on our domestic adoption today. I mean really small. Like less than a baby step. another hobby. I went to a beginner sewing class last night and was happily surprised that I am not a beginner. I cannot sew a straight line but I have used my sewing machine in the past and with a little thought and a Diet Coke, I was able to remember how to prepare a bobbin and thread the machine. That in itself is no small feat, if you are a beginner. But I was feeling like a pro. I am happy to report that I made this.

I like it a lot and I was so happy that the new sewing shop carries Amy Butler and Heather Bailey. The orange fabric on my cuff is Heather Bailey. The floral was from the same line but was not Heather’s I don’t think. I cut off the selvage and stupidly threw it away at the store. Selvage. You like that? Told you I was a pro.
