Just a little tag…
Isabella was at day camp today in the neighborhood. After the gym of course with Mom and me. I so do not like exercise. If it were not for the great trainers at our little gym, I would not be there. I would throw it all away in a heartbeat. I have no exercise endorphins apparently. Oh well. Anyway, shopping expedition with mom, which is always cool but usually expensive. We ordered two new mirrors for my bathroom, which will be really pretty after the painting is done. And we found a mirror for my dining room wall too. A very productive day. Then I came home, hung out in my office. Oh crap, forgot to register for Digi In Deep, have to go do that now, hold on... Okay, I'm back. Registered. Whoo hoo. More digital stuff to learn.
So, here's a hybrid project. I got the idea from a recent issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine.
The birthday hat is from Artchix Studio. Very cool place. The background paper is digital. I changed the colors just a bit to match the birthday hat and added a swirl brush on top. Then I printed. I inked a grungeboard flourish, nothing fancy, just ink. Then I used Glossy Accents to adhere it to the lined paper. I cut around the outside edge of the flourish using my craft knife. Then I adhered that to the printed tag. Trimmed the edges, added a grommet with my Crop-A-Dile. Done. Goodnight.
Happy Weekend
We are having our bedroom painted, which really means a bedroom, a study for Scott and a bathroom. Here are before photos.
I'm not sure if photos will actually show you the difference but the walls are being plastered a nice creamy beige-y brown and the trim is being painted darker. In Scott's study, which now has a wall and french doors separating it from the bedroom, the walls are dark and the trim is light. I don't have a before phot oof my bathroom but trust me, its all beige and white. Its being warmed up with the cream color, the darker trim, and the two vanity cabinets are being painted dark brown and stained to look like furniture. I'm very excited, I think it will be really pretty when its done.
Okay, I'm off to do something else over at the craft table. Gotta go be busy while Scott is out helping a friend pull internet wiring or some such thing, and Isabella is in bed. Whoo hoo for me!
More Digital Layouts
It’s the weekend again
Thank God. Seriously. Boring week. Didn't get a lot done. Although my house is much cleaner. That totally does not count in my book. Wasted time. Ha.
So I made this layout with a freebie kit from Corina Nielsen. I've been following her blog for awhile and love her style. She's fun and easy going. This was a really fun kit to play with, not my typical colors, but I'm not sure what that means at this point anyway. I'm just having fun with this stuff.
I did a bunch of other layouts for my Girl Scout troop album but I haven't saved them in web format yet. Need to do that and post them, and add them to my Picasa web album too.
We went to dinner tonight and my mom joined us. We went to Mi Luna for tapas... lots of little appetizer dishes. Yum. And wine. Double yum. And dessert. Triple yum. I'm a bit sleepy now so off I go. More later this weekend. Have a good one!
A Good Weekend
Well, my trainer at the gym might not think so, but it was good in my book. Friday night, we had family night. Went for pizza and Girl Scout Thin Mint Blizzards at Dairy Queen. Seriously, they are only around for July. And they are awesome. Yesterday, we got lots of chores done around the house, including 8 bags of donation clothing from my closet. Now that is just ridiculous. I'm happy to have it cleaned out. Isabella went to see the American Girl movie with Grandma Honey and Scott and I went to eat MEAT at Fogo de Chao. I'm certain that is spelled wrong. Its all about the MEAT. So today, we have been helping some friends get their new laptop set up on their network, that's always a nightmare but its pretty much done, so now the friend is helping Scott finish his "man room". The painter is coming in three weeks so he now has a deadline. They are finishing the trim today and then we just need a carpet layer to come tack the carpet back down. I got a bunch of digital layouts done on Thursday night and Friday morning (couldn't sleep) and another one done today.
This one was the final layout for my digital class at Jessica Sprague. It was fun. I learned SO much in this class. I'm debating signing up for the next one. I'm thinking I have learned enough for now to do lots of nice pages and I am feeling the need to get back to paper and stamps and glue.
Here is the one I did today and saved for the web. They were all for my Girl Scout troop album so now I just have to print and slip them in the album. Hooray!
I also need to send some of these to the parents of these girls. If they have scrapbooks, they can print them and slip them in their own albums.
I got my Scarlet Lime monthly kit today. Can't wait to get started. I think I will work on that after dinner tonight.
