Griffin & The Cupcake
This is today’s digital layout for the class over at Jessica Sprague. Lots of stuff learned in this week’s session… combining elements to make a mask (the red part was three different things when we started), loading a PNG and using it as a brush, blending a photo into the background. My head is spinning to be honest. Will have to try all of these techniques multiple times so I don’t forget how to do them.
Griffin was so cute on Saturday, I just couldn’t resist doing another layout to send to my aunt.
Isabella is at Girl Scout camp. She was SO happy to be there with Kristen and they loved the journals and had started their photo missions before we left. After we got the beds made, they literally pushed us out the door. They were getting a tour of the barn and going swimming before dinner. They were READY TO GO.
I will write more later, I actually have to do some work while I wait for the phone guy to come tell us what’s wrong with our phone. If we have one off the hook somewhere, I will be so embarrassed, but we’ve tried to figure it out and no luck. So I will just have to be the dumb blonde if it turns out to be our fault.
So today is the 30th and I didn’t quite create something EVERY DAY in June but I got close. I headed over to Beth’s blog and for July, she is taking a picture a day, for 26 days, going through the alphabet. Then when we’re done, we can turn it into a mini-book. Should be fun! So tomorrow is A…

Getting Ready for Camp
Isabella is off to Girl Scout camp tomorrow through Thursday. No, we’re not packed yet. No, the laundry isn’t done. Yes, I have the suitcase out. Yes, she has a journal! Priorities people, priorities. She is going with her friend Kristen so I made them matching journals. Inside, there is a page titled Photo Mission with a list of photos we want them to take because last year, they come home with 17 photographs of their treehouse cabin and 2 photos of their counselors and 6 of the ground. There is also a page for each day (maybe they will actually write down things that happened), a page for Favorites (fave new friend, horse, food, counselor, etc), and a page for Something New I Learned. We shall see if this little journal even gets opened or if its tossed in the bottom of the suitcase upon arrival. At any rate, I had loads of fun making it with a transparency on the front, Adirondack Paint Dabber on the back of the transparency behind the rubon and sticker letters (thank you Tim Holtz for paint dabbers!), and my new Zutter. Am loving my Bind-It-All, can already see addiction happening in just 24 short hours of ownership.
Okay fine, I will go do the laundry and start her packing now. Sheesh people. Again, priorities.
No commentsIts Friday
Shabbat shalom to those of you who care happy Friday to the rest of you!
So I’m not caught up on sleep yet and I’ve got to run to the grocery store to get fish for homemade fishsticks for family night. We’re eating dinner at home and playing Battleship. Scott is so going to lose to Isabella and I, you watch and see.
I’ve been catching up on my digital layouts for Now We’re Rockin with Photoshop over at Jessica Sprague’s website. Loving these classes… BFFs is from a class template, the other two are completely from scratch using a great kit we got from Sweet Shoppe Digitals. Happy happy kit.
So… since tonight is family night, I’m not sure what I will get done and I COMPLETELY missed the 25th of this month for my Shimelle project. I really and truly suck at these long commitment projects. Sigh. I thought I would take photos on the 26th instead but I even botched that up. So there you have it. I think I will skip June, and wait for July. Maybe I will have better luck.
Beth Johnson had a great post today for a mini-album for a year… I know, another commitment, but I thought I would link you there anyway in case you are interested, it looks easy and only requires one photo per month so maybe I could pull that together…
We’re dropping Isabella off at Girl Scout camp on Sunday afternoon. She is very excited. I still don’t have care packages and mail prepared to leave with the main desk. Gonna have to find some time alone on Saturday. She’s been home this week with me while I work so I have had no time to shop in secret.
Scott and I want to go see the new Angelina Jolie movie so we might do that Sunday on our way home from camp. Ahh, the sound of freedom from some of my responsibilities for the next few days… its so close I can taste it. I love her dearly, more than anything, but oh to have a little peace and quiet. Lovely, lovely.
No commentsBack in Town
Well we’ve been back for a few days. Monday was Isabella’s birthday. We got home around 10pm. I’ve been working and trying to catch up on sleep since we returned. I’m at work (shhh… don’t tell my mom I’m on my blog) so later tonight I will post some photos and a layout or two. We had a really great time. Isabella was so happy to see Bailey again and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with the Wallens. It was a wonderful weekend back in a city we love.
