2 Cousins and a Never Ending Love

As grownups, my cousin and I are not close. By a long stretch. Our lives have gone two very different directions and when we occasionally see each other, we don’t have a lot to say. Yes, it is sad, but it is reality. However, as children, we were always together and we had lots of fun. I made this digitial layout with supplies from ScrapGirls. I am new at digital layouts but I’m having a lot of fun. My class with Jessica Sprague is going really well, I think I really get it! And I am loving it. My desk with all the paper on it over there is calling my name and I feel a bit guilty. I think i will end up a hybrid scrapbooker but the jury is still out. Sure would be cheaper to go all digital. But oh I love opening new packages of embellishments and paper! oh the paper!

This is another digital layout, this one using papers from my Jessica Sprague class, made by K Pertiet. Some really lovely stuff. This is about my grandparents. I did not know my grandfather very well, he died when I was three, but my grandmother loved him so much. She never stopped loving him, all the way to her last breath, fighting Alzheimer’s. He was what she remembered. Not me, not my dad so much, but her Bud. And I think that’s special.

Sunday Sunday Sunday

Okay, I’m posting this three days late…

We had a busy day today. Isabella had religious school in the AM. It was the last week before summer break so it was for three hours and each grade had a presentation and then there was an Israel 60th birthday carnival. It was fun but we had to leave early to get home, clean up, and go to Isabella’s piano recital. She did very well, I’m really proud of her because piano is hard. She is only 7 and it takes lots of practice, etc. She’s just now starting to see the practice pay off and like her parents, she tends to be a more instant gratification kind of person… hard lesson to learn at an early age. Sigh.

25th of Every Month

I don’t think I posted this before. I am participating in a project with Shimelle. We document the 25th of every month for an entire year.

This is the *top* of my first month. Its a landscape album and all together, I used 12 photographs on my layout. How cool is that? Check out the project, you can always start, its never too late!

This is the *bottom* of my first month. We had a good day that day and I can’t wait to see what the rest of my 25th’s bring!!!

Now I’m off to run my daughter to school and head to the gym. Don’t tell my trainer or my husband, but I’m starting to like the place. Makes me happy to feel good about my health and slowly I’m learning to love the body I’m in. Check out Kal Barteski for more about loving life just the way you are. I’m off! Its going to be a hot, muggy, sticky, GREAT day!

One More Layout

Okay, so I’m back and I uploaded one more layout. I just did this in PSE6, all digital with a kit from Songbird. This kit is gorgeous and the proceeds go to charity AND its only 8 bucks! With seriously, tons of papers and embellishments from a bunch of well known digital designers. Anyway, I had fun with it and I’m a beginner so if I can do it, its pretty easy folks.

Okay, I’m off to do a little bit of playing with paper, no more computer this evening.

Night night.

Happy Mother’s Day!

I had a really nice Mother’s Day. We went to my mom’s and my brother’s family came too and we all hung out at the pool. The kids went swimming and we ate burgers and I got to veg out and read a book. Sigh. Nice nice day. Now everyone else is asleep, I KNOW it’s not even 9pm here but my daughter and husband were exhausted from playing in the pool and I am wired because i did NOT play in the pool. I rarely get in, I just sit in the shade and pretend to get a tan. I did stick my legs out in the sun today so maybe I will not be pale as a ghost for too much longer.

Here is another project I recently worked on.

This was a mini album for our spring break road trip. I made two – one for my daughter and one for her friend. I made the book from scrap chipboard and created little tabs with my Cricut for various sections. I put cardstock in between for journaling and photos. The girls wrote a few things in the books while we were on the road but when we got home I created mosaic pages from our photos and printed them out. On the opposite page of each mosaic I made a fill in the blank journal page so they could answer questions and write some memories from the trip. They also had personalized pens stamped with their initials and covered in microbeads. They thought they were great. I decorated with ribbon, a little bling, and some fishing tackle I found, with the hooks removed of course, and a caribiner to tie on the pen. This was really fun and easy to make.
Happy Mother’s Day to you and yours,
Carol Z
