Archive for April, 2008

So this is a painting by my Dad, Ralph Parker. I love the blue roof and am very happy this will be hanging in my home. I haven’t picked a spot yet but I have an idea as my craft room is being reworked and this will be on my inspiration wall.

Speaking of reworked craft rooms, this is happening because I need my own space. I had my own space until it got invaded by Scott. Now we found a place to give him his own space so he can stay out of my own space. I’m wondering how long that will work but we’re going to give it a shot. I wouldn’t mind sharing my space but the rooms are simply not large enough to have three people and two cats, and a printer desk and a craft desk, etc. all in one space. I can’t deal, need air.

So I feel better just writing, perhaps the rest of Wednesday won’t be so bad. See ya.

Wednesday Is No Good

So here it is, Wednesday. Work is slow (which is a mixed blessing to be honest), my workout at the gym sucked, despite Juan’s (my trainer) best efforts to keep me motivated, and Isabella has a piano lesson this afternoon which she hates and fights tooth and nail so I know what my afternoon will look like. Sigh. I need a better attitude.

I’ve been a bit busy. I got through the Girl Scout volunteer banquet last night, it was very nice, everyone loved the food from La Escondida’s, they always do a great job and their black bean dip is truly to die for. Our illustrious leader Ellen gave me a bouquet of yellow roses which was so pretty. Someone took a photo, I need to get a copy and post it. We all chipped in and got her a trinket box and we each wrote a handmade note, I made a card because I am an overachiever. I also made little mini treat boxes for all the ladies on the team that were filled with York patties. They were quite cute actually and Sophia wants to know how to make them for an older girl GS event in May. Maybe I will teach my first tutorial/class, LOL.

So on that front, I am still taking a class from Shimelle called There’s No Place Like Home and am very happy. I haven’t actually *done* anything yet, just reading all the prompts and I have taken some photos so I am trying to get my creative ideas flowing. Anyway, Shimelle’s class is really lovely and she’s posting another project soon about taking photos one day per month for a whole year and making a mini album, think I’m going to try that one too. Maybe I will take a photo of me, perhaps I will be more svelt in a year, despite my bad attitude at the gym! However all of this will have to wait because Saturday is the first night of Passover and we’re having the seder. I have to cook. And clean. And bake. All with no flour. I can do it. I’ve done it before. My friends are lovely and will appreciate it all. I know they will.

After that, my time is back to being mine. No wait, its Isabella’s and Scott’s. No wait, its mine. Oh heck, who am I kidding? Its all mine and I love sharing it with them!

Now if I could just figure out how to get photos on this blog…. trying now…

Not too sure about this blog thing

Okay, so I’m back… let’s see, the banquet is planned: food ordered, dessert ordered, recognitions for all the leaders being picked up today. Just need to buy a few basic decorations and get the silent auction sheets prepared. I made some cute thank you mini treat boxes for all the service unit team members. I’m finishing them up tonight (I think) so I will post a picture as soon as I can. I get so many neat ideas from splitcoaststampers . Just type in an idea or a topic and there you are. If its been done, its there.

Isabella’s summer is all organized. Now if I could just get her to practice piano.
